Polyamide

Polyamide 6 and Polyamide 66 are highly versatile. Due to its many advantageous properties, it finds use in many industries and industrial applications, making it one of the most widely used engineering thermoplastics. For example, its lighter material weight, toughness, impact resistance, and thermal resistance.
Additionally, it often serves as a replacement for aluminium, brass, bronze, steel, and other metals in assemblies that require the reduction of weight and/or noise stemming from metal-to-metal contact. Here at Calco, we engineer plastics such as CILON®- PA6 and PA66, by including various additives and fillers to improve or enhance the properties of the polyamide material. For example, adding glass powder or fibers can increase its strength and rigidity.
Compared to standard PA6 and PA66, glass-filled PA6 and PA66
generally offers the following advantages:

■ Up to 70% greater tensile strength
