SK3000S Reactive Extruders

The SK3000S is a continuous reaction processor. Feed enters at one end and passes through conveying, melting, reaction, devolatilization, homogenization and pressure build-up zones, leaving as a finished product in a single pass.

Reaction time is set by machine geometry and shaft speed rather than by the operator: residence time is a function of free volume, fill level, shaft speed and throughput, so residence time and capacity must be specified as a pair.

The SK3000S suits duties where the reaction proceeds while viscosity is changing, where volatiles must leave during the reaction rather than after it, and where discharge stability forms part of the product specification. Typical applications include reactive polymerization, polymer modification, controlled rheology and residual monomer or solvent removal.
