Taiwan Select Pavilion Presents 29 Exhibitors Across 378 sqm; Director-General Han Kuo-yao Visits VietnamPlas in Support

(Ho Chi Minh City, September 9, 2026) The 2026 Vietnam International Plastics & Rubber Industry Exhibition (VietnamPlas 2026) officially opened today at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC) in Ho Chi Minh City, running from September 9 to September 12. This year, the Taiwan Die & Mold Industry Association (TMDIA), with the support of the International Trade Administration, Ministry of Economic Affairs (ITA, MOEA), has organized the Taiwan Select Pavilion, bringing together 29 quality Taiwanese exhibitors across a total exhibition area of 378 square meters. The exhibits comprehensively cover the upstream, midstream, and downstream segments of the plastics and rubber industry chain, making it one of the largest and most representative national pavilions at this year's show.

On the opening day, Director-General Han Kuo-yao of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Ho Chi Minh City and Director Chang Yi-feng of the Economic Division jointly attended the exhibition. They visited the Taiwan Select Pavilion exhibitors booth by booth, learning about each company's product technologies and market strategies in Vietnam, and expressed strong appreciation for Taiwanese companies' commitment to the Vietnamese market. Afterwards, both officials joined the pavilion exhibitors for a group photo at the Taiwan Select Pavilion Value-Added Service Booth. The lively atmosphere on site clearly demonstrated the shared determination of government and industry to expand into Southeast Asian markets.

Vietnam has become one of the most important emerging markets for Taiwan's plastics and rubber machinery. According to statistics, Taiwan's total exports of plastics and rubber machinery reached USD 757 million from January to November 2025, with Vietnam ranking as Taiwan's second-largest export market at USD 89.96 million, or 11.88% of the total. In terms of market fundamentals, Vietnam currently has approximately 2,200 registered plastics enterprises, 85% of which are concentrated in the southern region with Ho Chi Minh City as the industrial hub. Vietnam's plastics market reached approximately 11.84 million tons in 2025 and is projected to grow to 12.83 million tons in 2026, with a compound annual growth rate of up to 8.35% from 2026 to 2031, making it Southeast Asia's fastest-growing plastics cluster. Furthermore, Vietnam's infrastructure investment grew 40% year-on-year in the first half of 2025, driving demand for pipes, profiles, and insulation materials. As Vietnam's upstream petrochemical capacity remains insufficient, both plastic raw materials and processing equipment continue to rely heavily on imports, offering an excellent entry opportunity for Taiwanese suppliers.

The Taiwan Select Pavilion's exhibits are organized into four major categories. Machinery and Equipment features 9 companies, covering extrusion lines, injection molding machines, blow molding machines, rubber compounding equipment, and mold processing technologies, forming a complete molding process solution. Testing and Measuring Instruments features 2 companies offering universal testing machines, impact and abrasion testing equipment, and density measuring instruments. Plastics and Rubber Raw Materials is the largest category with 14 exhibitors, spanning thermoplastic elastomers (TPE/TPR/TPU), engineering plastics, recycled plastic resins, masterbatches, pigments and additives, as well as synthetic rubber and chemical raw materials. Materials and Finished Products includes 4 companies presenting foamed plastics and rubber materials, silicone and rubber molded parts, and high-temperature insulation materials. Together, the four categories form a complete supply chain from equipment and testing to raw materials and finished products, fully demonstrating the integrated strength of Taiwan's plastics and rubber industry.

In addition to a dedicated business matchmaking area providing a comfortable environment for buyers and exhibitors, the Taiwan Select Pavilion also features a rolling showcase of exhibitor corporate videos and hosts a series of product promotion activities throughout the show. The exhibition runs until September 12.
