Description
The shafts of the twin-screw extruder is the key component that supports the threaded elements, transmits torque, and ensures the stable operation of the screw assembly. Its performance directly affects the load-bearing capacity, operational stability, and service life of the extruder. The mainstream type is a segmented core shaft (paired with "building block-style screw"), which is composed of multiple cylindrical shaft sections connected by a connecting structure (such as spline, thread or coupling). It can be flexibly assembled according to the arrangement length of the threaded elements; some small extruders adopt an integral core shaft, suitable for fixed screw combination scenarios. The shafts needs to simultaneously meet the requirements of high strength (resistance to torque), high rigidity (resistance to bending), wear resistance, and a certain degree of toughness (to prevent breakage).
