The Melt Flow Indexer (MFI) is a precision instrument used to measure the melt flow rate (MFR) or melt volume rate (MVR) of thermoplastic polymers. It evaluates the flowability of molten plastic under standardized conditions (temperature, load, and piston displacement), providing critical data for material characterization, quality control, and process optimization in industries such as plastics manufacturing and research. Key standards include ASTM D1238 and ISO 1133.
