Description
Zinc stearate is a fine, white, hydrophobic powder composed of zinc and stearic acid. It is the most commonly used metal stearate, known for its excellent mold release, anti-blocking, and lubricating properties. It is insoluble in water and alcohol but soluble in aromatic hydrocarbons.
Key Applications:
Plastics Industry: Acts as a mold release agent and lubricant in PVC, ABS, and polystyrene processing.
Rubber Industry: Used as a release agent and activator in the vulcanization process.
Paints and Coatings: Functions as a matting agent and improves grinding efficiency.
Cosmetics: Used in powders and creams for its smooth feel and moisture resistance.
